Everton Viña del Mar SADP appointed former Colo Colo manager Hector Tapia as the new Everton manager taking over from the departing Victor Rivero.
The 38 year old enjoyed a successful playing career playing for a host of clubs including Colo Colo, Universidad Católica, Palestino, Unión Española in Chile, Lille OSC in France, Perugia in Italy and FC Thun in Switzerland as well as making a dozen appearances for the national side.
Tapia then took up a coaching role at former club Colo Colo before becoming manager from 2013-2015 having moderate success winning the Clausura in 2014.
The new manager made his intentions clear by giving fresh starts to Jose Luis Munoz who recently left the club, while defender Matias Blazquez also made a surprise return after speaking with Tapia.
Tapia has three games left in the domestic season to review his players, before preparing for the play-off at the end of the season.
We wish him the very best of luck.
